CY9M QRT it is time to prepare for Comoros!

Well ... I had no chances to complete bands slots with CY9M as condition wasn`t good on 10/12 here and Team had to leave St.Paul Island sooner than expected. Weather forecast wasn`t good. I`m more than happy with 7 bands! Tonight 10m was wide open to NA! At 23:30 UTC I had almost 20 QSOs with NA station on 28Mhz CW. This is what I was waiting for when CY9M was QRV.
D64K A multi-national group will activate the Comoros Islands from 8 – 20 August. Stay tuned!

Uff what a night!

Is 5:53 AM in the morning here ... and I am going bed. Chasing CY9M all night long. It was worth it! ....

  • 30M-CW at around 22:00 UTC it was tough!
  • 80M-CW aprox 2:00 UTC - bit lucky
  • 160M-CW yes! I can do it ;) at my sunrise
  • 40M-SSB in RSGB IOTA Contest - tough as well! Grey line just passed.
12/10M needed now. Condition is going up .... I still have a hope!
GL!

Singapore on 80m!

UFF! I just had a FB QSO with 9V1YC James from Singapore. Well known DX`er and member of some greatest DX-Peditions (VP8GEO , VP8THU , VP8ORK , FT5XO , BS7H ...... etc!) It was big pleasure for me! Double pleasure .... QSO on 80m! Big time new one on that band! ...
I had some problems with my dipole mast. I had to take it down for some reasons ... My multiband dipole has new location now and I didn`t know how will be working .... looks like is doing good job!

Straight key in use .....

It is time to learn some telegraphy using straight key! My morse key is dual .... paddle and straight key made in by KENT. All the time I was using paddle ... now after visiting Titanic museum I`ve got fascinated straight morse key.

And for first I was trying to call some CQ CQ .... I had two QSOs on 20m using straight  key .... it was hard. Much harder for me that paddle. I need to get more practice with straight key! But I must say I like it.

Here is my CQ CQ .... I was calling QRP just to have a look how my signal will be decoded by Reverse Beacons and .... not bad for first time :)

Order of Malta .... mission completed.

Last missing band - 10m - completed with Sovereign Military Order of Malta 1A0C. No hope for 160m this time (Summer at its best here) .... but who knows 2 days left. Quite easy to work them from my location.

Sunday 1 July 2012

Sovereign Military Order of Malta

1A0C is QRV on the bands from today for 4 days. One of the most wanted DXCC from Europe. EI9KC needs them on few bands as a new one (10/12/15/160). Last acticvation from Order of Malta was last year in January 2011 callsign was 1A0KM. Today I am happy to log them on 12/15 and 17m. Log online here.
