UFF - Pictairn VP6T - sorted !

It wasn`t easy. Very hard job to reach DX-Pedition like that one in SSB. But finally done! Last missing band / emission sorted. QSO on 28Mhz SSB gave me 8`th band with Pitcairn and SSB mode as well. Best signal today on 10m by the way. On the video recorded shortly after my call EI9FBB Dave is logged as well! Pitcairn - job done! Thanks!

To be honest I didn`t expect so many band slots with VP6T!

VP6T update

Great DX-Pedition! Worked on 7 bands already. (Last missing band 10m) Yesterday on 17mCW and today on 40mCWI I had to wake up early (5.30 AM local) to work them and it was worth it! Nigel at the key ;) He is great CW operator. For 1`st time I`ve decided to donate The Team. For great thrill!

EI9KC spotted in ZL with 20W on JT65

I have good fun now playing DIGI modes on the HF radio. Mostly PSK31 and JT65 QSOs. On JT65 is a interesting story because every active station is working like reverse beacon as well. Today when I was calling CQ on JT65 on 20m with just 20W I was spotted in New Zealand more than 18000 km !!! :)

Fine Italian job! El Salvador!

Luca IW2CXJ is active now holidays style from EL Salvador. He is using home call-sign. And today I had QSO with him on 21Mhz. Nice one. New country for me on 15m. Luca is rapid QSLer! Very fast confirmation on eQSL and LoTW as well. Ciao Luca! Good Man Yourself!

Top in Ireland on Top Band CQWW 160m 2011

Nice surprise in my box. Award for 1`st place in Ireland during CQ WW 160m DX Contest in Low Power CW Assisted category in 2011. I would like to participate in this contest this year as well to get some new DXCC perhaps and good fun for sure! Low Band is a challenge for me. At the moment 48 countries worked and 32 confirmed. I don`t know if my new antenna for 160 will be ready for contest ... We`ll see.

QSO with remote station

Last week when I had my first QSO with VK on 7Mhz early in the morning local time Dan WA6URY gave me a call. We had short but nice CW QSO on 40m. It was probably my first California on 40m :) Today in my box his QSL to confirm our QSO and there is an information on it that DAN was calling me from .... Japan via remote control station located in Los Angeles County in USA. Wow it must be amazing experience to this kind of remote contacts. Dan thanks for QSO/QSL it was pleasure for me. QSO to remember!

Malpelo Island

Great Most Wanted DX worked today on two bands! HK0NA official start next few days but some members of the team are on Malpelo already and they are building antenna system there and base camp for all operators. And during their spare time are active on the bands. Today in just 5 minutes Malpelo logged for first time ever on 28Mhz and 24Mhz both contacts SSB.

Learning CW in progress ...

This is my QSO with Vic SM7ZDI from Sweden on 80m CW. I`m trying to practice CW almost every day. Wonderful way of communication. My favorite mode so far. I`m operating now mostly on CW. Mistakes can happen but real QSO for me is a best way ti learn morse code melody.

P.S. Latest DX worked on 80m - V5.DK1CE - Namibia!

80m Counties Contest, January 2012

Once again I was active during 80m IRTS winter contest. Last year 60 QSO (SSB only), this year 85 (SSB.CW). Not too bad but less irish counties worked than in 2011. This time 24 counties worked. Missing ones: Kerry , Sligo , Tipperary , Carlow , Offaly , Laois, Tyrone, Cavan. Good fun anyway.
