VK - ZL openings

I had to go to the Dublin Airport early in the morning. When I was back home I didn`t want to go back to bed and decided to have a look on the bands for condition. I`ve made few contacts with VK and ZL stations. Australia and New Zealand was very strong in my location. To be honest like never before. On 20m almost on every frequency stations from VK and ZL were calling CQ DX or CQ Europe. I had my first ZL SSB  QSO. One Tasmania logged as well. Some QSOs very via LP and some via SP. Great opening also on 28Mhz! SWL first JA station and logged China on 10m. One big surprise in my log today as well. Not Oceania .... Central Amercia ...

YS3CW Roberto from Italy operating as YS3CW worked early in the morning on 30mCW. I didn`t know that it will be new DXCC on HF ;) Nice surprise!

4W6A - 30m - surprise

Nice surprise today. When I checked on-line log from 4W6A I`ve found my not 100% made QSO last night on 30m CW! Why not 100% ??? When 4W6A was active on 10Mhz CW with good signal in my location some station was making QRM tunning on the same frequency. And I was calling them but didn`t copy reply to my call correctly ... they logged me anyway! Hmm I`m always for 2-way QSO , raport must be exchanged both ways. During their operation from East Timor I SWL them on 40CW/ 20SSB / 18CW/ 15SSB/10 CW/SSB. Great signal on 10m they had early afternoon here but to work them on SSB I need ..... big power and better antenna. Pile-up is massive and for SSB there is no hope to work them at the moment.

On the picture my SPECIAL MANUFACTURE KENT COMBINATION IAMBIC PADDLE AND STRAIGHT KEY.

4W6A - 2`nd attempt

4W6A East Timor worked again. This time in 21Mhz CW early in the morning. My first QSO on 14Mhz is not in the log (hope it will be fixed) this time 100% in the log. I was trying to work them late at night yesterday, signal was good at 0:00 local time here on 20m but they didn`t copy me. It was SSB mode. Same story today on 28Mhz , good signal but pile-up massive. My QSO on 15m CW was "easy" few calls and logged. Signal was real 599 here.

Burundi from low level and Timor Leste log problem.

Nice QSO made late in the evening. 9U7T Pierre operating from Burundi in Africa worked with antenna at 3m high only. 20m SSB. New country for me on 14Mhz. Nice one.

Once again about Timor Leste and 4W6A they have some problems with their log and my QSO (and few people as well) is not in the log on 20mCW Sunday (18.09) morning. So well. I`m sure they had my call 100% correct. I`m sure about QSO. I hope they will fix it. I don`t know if I have a opportunity to work them again heh.

L/P vs S/P

Palau was very poular DXCC today on the bands. Few stations spotted on cluster with good signals in my location. I`m happy with one QSO on 20m CW with T88GO late night with massive signal. New country for me on HF. I will always remember QSOs with Palau on 11m when in the morning I was working this prefix via short path and in the evening same station via long path. This time I had QSO via S/P hi hi ;)

East Timor

The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, commonly known as East Timor is my newset DXCC! Brand New. Newer worked before as this is "young" country. 4W6A Dxpedition is now air and I`m lucky to log them on 20m CW. Contacted this morning via L/P

Hurricane Katia

Hurricane Katia is currently crossing the Atlantic ... very windy today in my location, tomorrow wind will be stronger. Antenna is down. I had plan to visit North Cork Radio Group Rally tomorrow but I have to cancell this trip as weather will be bad .Met Éireann has issued a weather alert with winds of between 100 and 130km/h expected tomorrow night and Monday morning.

And many thanks to all operators on the list for their patience with my mistakes. BTW Nice opening from ASIA directions today. Good QSO on 28Mhz CW with Peter XU7ACY from Cambodia!

Real Sri Lanka on dipole.

My first contact with Sri Lanka on HF was with 4S7DXG this station is not 100% verified by HAM radio community as his licence is no clear. Anyway it was time for another REAL station from Ceylon. I was lucky today put into my log 4S7NE Nelson on 17m CW, worked with my dipole! I did some improvement for my WimDom dipole and this is great reslut how it is working! There is  few reasons why I had to use dipole today ....
  1. Wind !!! 50km/h in my QTH ... yes winter is on the way.
  2. Multibander delta 7-PL is not working on WARC bands like it was ....
  3. Check how improvement of my dipole is working.

All Asia SSB with New 1

XX9LT Bom from Macau is my Brand New DXCC worked today on 15m during All Asia SSB Contest. I was operating for a few moments on 21Mhz during AA Contest. Few JA , Middle East and Cyprus worked on 15m. Big new is Macau and few new DXCC on 15m : Hong Kong / Guam. When I heard WH2X Joel from Guam I was thinking that he is from Asia but Guam is Oceania and he was calling Asia station. He answer to my call , gave me raport. Hope he will count this QSO in his logbook. During All Asia Contest you are only allowed to work AS stations, some log book cannot add non Asia station during this contest. Anyway we will see. Nice condition was on 12m as well. I`ve made QSO with EY8MM Nodir from Tajikistan and 5R8UM Daniel from Germany operating now from Madagascar.

2 new DXCC in 15 minutes.

Great openings on the bands! Autumn is on the way here and propagation is getting better ... When I was active on 11m I remember that always in spring and autumn condition on the bands was great for long distance QSOs. And today new countries are:

DU9/PA3GZU  Maarten operating from Mindanao Island Philippines. Worked on 20m SSB.

and

7Q7HB OM Harry operating from Malawi. Worked with just one call on 20m RTTY !
